On a side note, unless instructional in nature, almost every cat you see on our website are our community cats!
Our Story
MEOW, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was established in 2012 by a few passionate friends who wanted to do more to help homeless and free-roaming cats in Monmouth County, NJ. We have over 25 years of combined experience in Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR).
TNR is a universally-recognized method of humanely trapping unaltered feral cats, spaying/neutering them, vaccinating and releasing them back to the same location where they were originally trapped. TNR is promoted by the ASPCA as the only humane and more effective alternative to euthanasia for managing and reducing feral cat populations as per ASPCA NYCFCI feral cat sterilization guidelines.
We believe a lot more needs to be done to help our cats. Over the years, we have met many people who wanted to do something to help the stray cats they encountered, but just didn't know what to do or how to get involved.
MEOW, Inc.'s goal is to be the resource and the "go to" resource in Monmouth County, New Jersey that people can use to learn about helping homeless and free-roaming community cats.
How We Can Help
We can teach you the basics of TNR!
We can lend you equipment (carriers, traps, cages, etc).
We can assist you with the trapping.
We can provide guidance on how to care for your colony.
We can help you financially to spay/neuter your cats (based on funding availability).
Because we are limited in resources and physical space, we aren't able to re-home or re-locate cats, unfortunately. But sometimes we're able to direct you to local rescues in your area who may be able to help.
How We Need Help
You can click here to see a full list of how you can help us help our community cats! MEOW, Inc. relies on donations and volunteers to accomplish TNR projects and all that entails. No amount of help is too small and everything makes a positive and real difference in the life of a cat!
Our Belief
We do NOT believe that any cat should be euthanized due to lack of homes or shelter space when there is another viable alternative. Each and every cat deserves a chance to live a happy and healthy life, whether homeless or not.
You can make a difference in the life of a homeless cat by providing some basic needs including:
-
spaying/neutering
-
daily food/water
-
adequate shelter
There is nothing more rewarding then watching a struggling, undernourished cat bloom into a healthy, happy and thriving cat, after you have provided the simple necessities above.
Join us now and save our homeless cats and help us to MAKE EACH ONE WORTHWHILE...
